About Kansas Court Docket

Kansas court dockets are reached through several connected places: Kansas CaseSearch indexes public case information, Kansas court rules set electronic access limits, and each county Clerk of the District Court maintains the local file. A statewide result can identify a case, while a complete register of actions, filed document, or certified copy may require a county-level request. Kansas Court Docket provides a private reference point for those routes and for the distinction between state, local, appellate, and federal records.

Why We Built This Site

Kansas provides a public statewide case-search entry point, but the state index and the county case file serve different purposes. Kansas CaseSearch brings legally public District Court and appellate case information into one search interface. Kansas Supreme Court rules govern what the internet portal can display. The county Clerk of the District Court keeps the full local file, including the register of actions and documents that may not appear in an online result. A search can therefore identify the case without supplying every filing or an authenticated copy. The county directory connects a reader to the local court route for any of Kansas's 105 counties; Municipal Court cases follow the city court named on the citation.

What You Will Find Here

  • Statewide court structure: a plain-language map of the Kansas court system and the court that keeps each type of docket
  • County routes: the county directory links to the court docket hub for each of the state's 105 counties
  • Case searches: how the case-search process works by party, business, citation, or case number
  • Case records: where to request court records and certified copies from the custodian holding them
  • Criminal and civil dockets: practical information on criminal dockets and civil dockets in Kansas District Court
  • Dates and settings: how to read a court calendar and confirm a hearing with the court that scheduled it

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site, not part of the Kansas Judicial Branch or a county clerk's office. Its role is limited. It cannot:

  • Retrieve an official Kansas docket sheet or case file
  • Issue a certified copy of an order or court document
  • Change a hearing date, remove a case, or alter an official docket entry
  • Give legal advice about how an order, charge, or deadline applies in a specific case
  • Guarantee that every local procedure, fee, or court contact remains current

The clerk or court that holds a Kansas case file is the source for an official docket or certified copy. The correct office depends on whether the matter is in District Court, Municipal Court, or an appellate court.

Search Partners

Search boxes on some pages are supplied by outside providers. Each provider controls its own service and prices. If a visitor follows one of those tools to a paid signup, the site may receive a referral fee. That relationship does not give the site control over the provider's charges, search process, or results.
